Some Local Talent
Check out this fantastic sketch from local artist “Prox-E”. Started using good old fashioned pencils and finished on a Wacom in Photoshop, the use of negative space is simply brilliant.

The interweb is pretty slow with design news at the moment, so I thought I would share one of my favourite artists with you; David Choe. This guy lives a breathes his art and its common place for him to put his blood into his work…literally. As a result his work is immensely personal and hence why I love it. He gained fame as a graffiti artist, but for me his real talents lie in his oils, his brushes and his blood and sweat.

There is something about these pieces from Brain M Viveros, I’m not sure what it is, but I find them simply mesmerizing. A very definite sense of beauty and emotion, yet a cold presence which hardens the mood.

The other day I posted an awesome “Anarchy How To“, which was created in the style of an aviation safety card. A style which I just happen to love. In steps Durex, their latest promo campaign is fantastic. Again based around the safety card, the campaing shares a few do’s and Dont’s of Sex Safety. Check it out below.

Check out these digital paintings from Canadian Artist Derek Stenning. This guy clearly has a thing for astronaughts, but the combination of retro and modern gives a whole new feel and the atmosphere in these images are just great!

Check out these awesome illustrations from Manuel Rebollo, I really enjoy this form of illustration where its like digital meeting with traditional, it all feels very Jasper Goodal’esque. There is a strong use of negative shapes/space in these and of course the black and white adds power for me.
