Caps Lock?

December10

So this Friday is my last day at work for a little under a month, Rad I know! In my time off I have a few things I need to get to, one of which is the massive stack of blank caps I have lying around. I will be painting them all up they will be up for sale in the new year so stay pealed. Here is the first done and dusted.

Pin-Me-Up

August24

Pin-Ups? Check. Guns? Check. Tats? Check. That is a pretty bad ass recipe for success, so no surprise as to why the art of the talented Dan Luvisi had found its way to this humble blog. Working out of L.A, Dan spends his day as a concept artist for feature films. These pieces however are from a pet project entitle L.M.S a book all about futuristic bounty hunters.

A Special kind of Type

July30

So I am in a real typographic phase lately, with a large amount of my work being centred around the creation of letter forms. As a result I am sure you can expect to see lots of typographic inspiration as it catches my eye on my Internet trawls. These pieces are from Marcelo Schultz.

Skatingboarding is a Crime

July5

Nice to have some art from a fellow South African for a change, even if I did stumble across it on an international page… These pieces from Gerhard Human were apparently part of an exhibition to help raise both awareness and funds for building a skatepark in Cape Town. The show has already come and gone, which is sad. Reveals that even when you are heavily invested in the local scene, sometimes its still so small it just slips through the cracks.

Sugar, We’re Going Down

June26

Ignore my song refrencing title (it’s all in the antlers) and check out these pieces from Sergio Saucedo. An illustrator from Mexico that has a clean, almost hipsteresque (in a good way) feeling to his pieces.

Hot Rod Paws

June12

What an honour to get to custom as epic a piece as the Coarse Paws Raw and what a long way from my humble beginings on 3″ Dunny’s.Decided to go with simple yet bold on this piece with poping colours, but not without issue. Let me warn you, NEVER try and drop yellow onto a grey primer base, 20 coats, no jokes. But all in all great fun, so here it is “Hot Rod Paws”.

Soft Illustrated Pin-Ups

June6

I feel there is something of a visual oxymoron in these images from London based illustrator Liz Clements. The soft tones and lines created both in colour and medium seem to be in direct contrast to the heavily tattooed models within them. But you know be, pin-ups and tats, this one was always going to get featured. Enjoy!
