Acid Flow

Here it is, my latest custom, in the form of a 7″ Munny entitled “Acid Flow”. This piece started out as some fun for myself, getting back to my roots in graffiti and letting it come out more heavily in my vinyl work. I was quite happy to be creating a toy with only myself to please, but I must admit I was even happier when it ended up selling before it was even finished! Drop me a comment with what you guys think :)

Makin Munny at Design Indaba

Yesterday I was given the opportunity to help Kronk host a vinyl toy customising workshop at South Africa’s Design Indaba. All I can say is thank you! Thank you to Kronk for inviting me to help host the class and thank you to Design Indaba for giving us the platform. It was a rich, rewarding and rad experience. Getting to meet so many people passionate about art was fantastic and getting to see them transform that passion into my favourite medium was brilliant. We have some real talent out there folks! Here’s hoping to it being even bigger and better next year.

All you need to do is follow me on twitter @givencollective and then tweet the following “Im Gonna Win the First Pistola De La Muerte Print from @givencollective #PistolaWinning” I will do the draw when I hit 400 followers as an added bonus if we get to 450 before month end I will give away a second print as well.

Rola Chang

When I came across these illustrations from Rola Chang, all I could think was how similar his style is to my own… In fact I had played with a similar idea a few years ago. The water colour motif is definitely something I am always interested in and this definitely makes me think I should re-visit my initial concept, especially considering I created the piece when I was relatively “new” to the world of graphic arts. Unfortunately I only have 1 of my pieces from these theme available to me today… So check out the pieces from Rola Chang and then find my piece right at the very end. Let me know what you think and maybe I will update the post with more from my series.

Taking it further

Here is a little something I was busy with over the weekend, I wanted to take the Iron Snake down a slightly different route. So I decided to work on a design for a skate deck, although I think it makes a pretty rad poster print as well. Let me know what you think.
